Living Coral - Pantone Color of the Year 2019

Do you have a favorite color?  I do.  Seeing anything in a shade of peachy-coral, pale or even bright orange can put me in my happy place, so you can imagine how big my smile was when I first read the news that Pantone had named coral the color of the year for 2019.  To be exact, it is officially referred to as Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral, and here is the description they list in the press announcement:

An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.

Notice all the positive adjectives they use in that description?  Maybe that’s why it puts a smile on my face whenever I see it.

It can be a soft, fluid color. . .

Or, it can soften hard lines.

Further descriptions say that it’s both vibrant and mellow.

And, like a really good soup, it embraces us with warmth and nourishment.

In the end, whether you prefer sunrises or sunsets, coral is almost always there which is another reason why you can’t escape it in 2019.  But why would you want to?

So now that you know a little bit about mine, what’s your favorite color?
